One Day event @ Deer Run

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

Shot 76 and finished somewhere down the list. The front side was horrendous. I was 5 over par for 3 holes. I hit my tee shots on those three holes either on or slightly off the intended line and they either ended up  OB or in a hazard. I didn’t know the course very well and should have played a practice round. It was hard to keep it together and honestly I just wanted quit. After I got over the triple on #8 I struggled to shoot even on the back in an attempt to save a little face.

Forrest Lake, Day 1

Thursday, February 7th, 2008

Today was the first round of a 2 day tournament at Forrest Lake. I shot 72 and when I left I was four shots off the lead. It was a tough day. The wind gusted up to 20 mph. and had a little bit of rain. I was striking the ball nicely just not converting when I hit the ball close. I had 3 biridies and two 3 putt bogeys. With one unconverted up/down I remained at level par. I worked my short putts after the round and I am hoping for a better putting day tomorrow.

First Tournament in ‘08

Saturday, February 2nd, 2008

Today was the first tournament I have played in months. Really one of a couple rounds played in the last month at all. Here’s a quick recap.
Tour: Moonlight Golf Tour
Event: Level 1 @ Huntington Hills Golf Course
Score: 73
Card:

Par 4 4 4 3 5 3 5 4 4 5 3 4 4 3 5 4 4 4
Score 4 5 4 4 5 3 5 3 4 4 4 5 4 3 5 4 4 3

Summary:   The wind was up and there were on/off misty showers that made up most of the climate for the round. I was a little tenative today and found myself steering shots. Once I became settled I started hitting some quality shots, but left many of my putts just outside of the hole. I came within a few edges of making birdie on the final four holes with only sinking the putt on 18 to shoot 73. I see this as just rust from the winter and I will spend the next few days becoming more confident with what I brought down here.
